Doors Built For Raymore Homes

The front doors on Raymore’s newer streets came out of the same value line as the windows: a builder slab, a thin weatherstrip and a decorative glass insert that looked good on the model home. Fifteen or twenty Missouri summers later the finish has chalked, the insert has fogged, and there is daylight along the latch side in the evening.

What we ask about first is how the house is actually used, because that is what the specification should follow. Which door the kids come through, whether the patio door gets opened with a coffee in one hand, how much sun the entry takes in the afternoon. Then we replace the door, the frame and the threshold together, so the fix is the whole opening.

The Product

What Makes A Door Worth Replacing

A door is the one exterior product you touch every single day, so how it feels in the hand matters as much as how it performs against the weather.

  • Insulated fiberglass and steel entry doors with thermal breaks
  • Sliding and hinged patio doors with multi-point locks
  • Storm doors sized and fitted to the existing opening

Raymore Specifics

Why These Door Features Matter In Raymore

Glass in the front door

Decorative inserts are the first thing to go on these entries: seals fail, the panel clouds, and it is the first thing anyone sees. A new unit puts glass rated for that exposure in a frame built to hold it, and you get to choose the pattern rather than inherit it.

Entries on open ground

Raymore’s newer neighborhoods sit high with little in front of them, so an entry facing the weather takes driven rain straight on. A sill pan under the door, a proper sweep and a threshold set to the slab keep that water outside where it belongs.

Tall entries with sidelights

Two-story builds here often came with a tall entry, sidelights and sometimes a transom above. Replacing the slab alone leaves the weak part in place, so we quote the full unit and keep the proportions the front of the house was drawn with.

Questions

Raymore Doors FAQ

How long does a door installation take?

A single entry or patio door is usually a one-day job. The opening is never left open overnight: removal, installation, insulation, sealing and trim all happen in the same visit.

Can I keep my existing sidelights?

Often yes, if they are in good condition and the proportions still work with the new slab. We will tell you honestly when replacing the full unit gives a better result than keeping mismatched glass.

Do I need a permit to replace a door in Raymore?

For a like-for-like replacement, usually not. If the opening is changing size we pull the permit with the City of Raymore and book the inspection. Either way, that part is ours to handle.

My subdivision has rules about front door color. Does that slow things down?

Only if we find out late. Tell us at the estimate and we will give you the manufacturer color name and product sheet to submit, then order once your approval is in hand.
