Local Expertise
Both O’Fallons are ours, the one in St. Charles County and the one in St. Clair County. Same crews, same warranty, same number to call. What your address changes is which inspector we are booking and how the week gets scheduled, and we sort that out before you have to think about it.
The ground is the practical difference. On the Missouri side the subdivisions sit on rolling land with walkout basements, so the kitchen door is often a full story above the yard and the deck has real height to deal with. On the Illinois side lots are generally flatter and decks sit closer to grade, which changes the framing, the clearance underneath and how quickly the wood goes.
The Product
Both materials build a good deck. The right answer depends on how much upkeep you want to sign up for and how long you plan to be in the house.
O’Fallon Specifics
A deck a full story up makes the stairs, the rail and the footing depth the real design work. Done properly you gain usable space underneath as well as the deck itself, which is the best return available on a walkout lot.
Closer to grade means less air under the frame and slower drying after rain. Clearance, post bases and material choice are what decide whether that deck lasts twelve years or thirty.
Decks are permitted and inspected in both cities, footings included, and the routes are not the same. We prepare the drawings and file with whichever authority covers your address, then schedule the footing inspection and the final around your build.
What You Get
Permitted where required, with ledger, footing and guard details done to current requirements.
Layout planned around your door location, grade and how you actually use the space.
Hidden fasteners, clean fascia returns and stair geometry that feels right underfoot.
How It Works
We come out, measure, look at what is actually there, and give you a written price with no obligation.
You choose materials, colors and details with samples in hand, and we confirm everything before anything is ordered.
Our own crews do the work, keep the site clean, and walk the finished job with you before we call it done.
No pressure. Just solutions.

Questions
Most residential decks take one to two weeks depending on size, height and rail system. Footings and inspections set the schedule more than the carpentry does.
If you plan to stay more than a few years, usually yes: you stop paying for sealing and board replacement. If the budget is tight or the deck is small, treated lumber built well is still a good deck.
The one for your address. In Missouri that is the City of O’Fallon or St. Charles County; in Illinois it is the City of O’Fallon or St. Clair County. We book both visits and meet them ourselves.
Usually, with the caveat that the ground differs. A design drawn for a walkout in Missouri often needs rethinking on a flat Illinois lot, and we would rather adapt it than force it and hand you something that does not suit the yard.
