Local Expertise
Siding in St. Charles splits by where you are standing. The frame houses near the river wear original wood that has been painted for a hundred and fifty years, and those are the ones where what you are allowed to do is the first question. The subdivisions west of town wear nineties and two-thousands vinyl that is now chalky on the sunny walls and brittle at the corners.
On the newer houses the decision is straightforward and the details are where it is won: what is behind the panel, how the corners are handled, what color you can live with. On the older ones we start with the district, because the honest answer is sometimes that the product you are asking about will not be approved here.
The Product
Every home is different, so we work with two proven lines: Craneboard insulated vinyl for whole-house performance, and Versetta Stone® mortarless veneer for masonry character. They go on alone or together on the same home.
St. Charles Specifics
Original siding on a historic house is not a candidate for a vinyl wrap, and we will say so plainly rather than take the job. Where a replacement is allowed, the profile and exposure have to match what is there, and that gets documented for review before it is ordered.
Builder panel from the boom years is thin and hollow, and it shows now: faded on the south and west, cracked low on the wall, loose at a corner where the wind gets under it. Craneboard is a different class of product, with a continuous insulated layer behind it.
Walls here stay damp longer than they do further from the water, especially the shaded sides. A drainage plane behind the panel and properly detailed flashing are what keep that moisture moving rather than sitting against the sheathing.
What You Get
Continuous insulation behind the panel reduces the thermal bridging that bare studs create.
No scraping, no repainting. An occasional rinse is genuinely the whole maintenance schedule.
A weather barrier behind every panel, sealed penetrations and correctly lapped flashing keep wind-driven rain out of the assembly.
How It Works
We come out, measure, look at what is actually there, and give you a written price with no obligation.
You choose materials, colors and details with samples in hand, and we confirm everything before anything is ordered.
Our own crews do the work, keep the site clean, and walk the finished job with you before we call it done.
No pressure. Just solutions.

Questions
Most homes take three to six working days depending on size, how complex the home is, and weather. We keep the site cleaned down each evening rather than at the end of the job.
We do not recommend it. Removing the old siding is the only way to inspect the sheathing, correct water damage and install the weather barrier properly, which is where the real performance comes from.
Inside the city, a straight replacement usually does not, though we confirm every address. County addresses file with St. Charles County. Historic district work carries a review, and that step comes before the order rather than after.
On a historic property, usually not, and we would not recommend it even where it is allowed. Covering wood traps moisture against it. If that is the route you are considering, let us look first and tell you what we would actually do.
