Liberty Decks FAQ
How long does a deck build take?
Most residential decks take one to two weeks depending on size, height and rail system. Footings and inspections set the schedule more than the carpentry does.
Is composite worth the extra cost over lumber?
If you plan to stay more than a few years, usually yes: you stop paying for sealing and board replacement. If the budget is tight or the deck is small, treated lumber built well is still a good deck.
How far ahead do we need to plan for spring?
Further than most people expect. Spring books up over the winter, and permits and drawings take their own time on top of the build. If you want to be out there by May, the conversation is a January one.
Can the deck be built for a gate and a fence line later?
Yes, and it is worth saying now. Where the stairs land and how the rail terminates decide how easily a gate goes in afterwards. We will frame it so the option stays open even if you do not use it.
