Local Expertise
A deck out here is a structure before it is a place to sit. The ground behind these houses drops away, and that one fact shapes the build more than the decking you choose or the rail you like the look of.
What you get for it is the best room in the house. Level with the kitchen door, out over the slope, looking at trees instead of a fence. We settle how you want to use it and how far out it should come, then draw it, file it and carry it through the inspections.
The Product
Both materials build a good deck. The right answer depends on how much upkeep you want to sign up for and how long you plan to be in the house.
Parkville Specifics
When a deck stands ten or fifteen feet off the ground, the framing under it is the whole job. Footing depth, post sizing and bracing get engineered for your slope, and none of that is where anyone should be saving money.
One big platform high off the ground can feel like a stage. Breaking the deck into levels that follow the slope gets you closer to the yard, gives the grill its own space and usually costs less than the single-level version people picture.
Getting from a raised deck to a yard that is falling away takes a stair run with a landing in it, and where that lands decides how the yard works. We site it early, because moving it later moves the framing with it.
What You Get
Permitted where required, with ledger, footing and guard details done to current requirements.
Layout planned around your door location, grade and how you actually use the space.
Hidden fasteners, clean fascia returns and stair geometry that feels right underfoot.
How It Works
We come out, measure, look at what is actually there, and give you a written price with no obligation.
You choose materials, colors and details with samples in hand, and we confirm everything before anything is ordered.
Our own crews do the work, keep the site clean, and walk the finished job with you before we call it done.
No pressure. Just solutions.

My experience with Shinnova was great. I want to thank Jeremy Sweatman for convencing me to get it done. My house looks new again and it is much warmer inside. The workers were very professional. They cleaned up after themselves every night before they left. Thank you very much.
We are extremely impressed with the professionalism of everyone we worked with Jeremy the bomb in explaining sale of windows and the process, Butch for guiding the installation and Dan for all the follow up on progress with delivery. Questions
Most residential decks take one to two weeks depending on size, height and rail system. Footings and inspections set the schedule more than the carpentry does.
If you plan to stay more than a few years, usually yes: you stop paying for sealing and board replacement. If the budget is tight or the deck is small, treated lumber built well is still a good deck.
Sometimes, and it depends on your slope. Where the ground under it is close to level, that space can be a patio. Where the hill keeps dropping, it is honestly storage, and we would rather tell you that than sell you a plan for a room you will not use.
Yes, and it is far easier to plan for during framing. We block and chase for lighting and an outlet as we build and coordinate with your electrician for the connection, so nothing is surface-mounted onto a finished deck afterwards.
