Local Expertise
The roofs here run from story-and-a-half houses in Belleville with knee-wall attics you can barely get into, to straightforward ranch planes in Swansea, to newer roofs out toward Shiloh and Mascoutah. What they have in common is that the trouble starts at the details: the valleys, the penetrations, the flashing where a roof meets a wall or a chimney.
We get up there, photograph what we find and go into the attic as well, because on the older houses half the evidence is inside. Then you get the straight version. If the field of the roof is sound and it is a flashing detail letting water in, we will recommend the repair and put it in writing rather than sell a roof that is not warranted.
The Product
A roof is a system, not a stack of shingles. The parts you never see (decking, underlayment, flashing, ventilation) decide how long the visible part survives.
St. Clair County Specifics
Story-and-a-half houses hide their roof problems behind knee walls, and a stain in a bedroom ceiling can start a long way from where it shows. We look properly rather than guessing from the shingle side.
We flash a chimney correctly as part of a roof. What we do not do is repoint or rebuild one, and plenty of the masonry chimneys here need exactly that. When yours does, we will tell you and recommend getting it done before the roof goes on.
Between base transfers and closings, a lot of roofs here have a date attached. We will tell you whether the schedule is real before you commit to it, and we would rather lose the job than miss your closing.
What You Get
Ice-and-water membrane at eaves and valleys where leaks actually start.
Manufacturer material coverage plus our own workmanship warranty, both in writing.
Magnetic sweeps of the drive and lawn, and debris hauled away, not stacked by the garage.
How It Works
We come out, measure, look at what is actually there, and give you a written price with no obligation.
You choose materials, colors and details with samples in hand, and we confirm everything before anything is ordered.
Our own crews do the work, keep the site clean, and walk the finished job with you before we call it done.
No pressure. Just solutions.
Testimonials
My experience with Shinnova was great. I want to thank Jeremy Sweatman for convencing me to get it done. My house looks new again and it is much warmer inside. The workers were very professional. They cleaned up after themselves every night before they left. Thank you very much.
We are extremely impressed with the professionalism of everyone we worked with Jeremy the bomb in explaining sale of windows and the process, Butch for guiding the installation and Dan for all the follow up on progress with delivery. Would recommend hands down we are actually on our second order. The Murphys

Questions
A typical single-family roof is a one to two day job. We tear off, inspect the deck, dry it in and finish the same trip, and the site is swept before the crew leaves each day.
We inspect first and show you photographs of what we found. If a targeted repair genuinely buys you several more years, that is what we will recommend. Replacing a roof that does not need replacing is not a service.
Yes. Inside a municipality it goes to that city, and unincorporated addresses go through St. Clair County. We pull whichever applies, post it and schedule the final inspection.
Send us the report. Quite often what is written up is a repair rather than a replacement, and a clear, documented scope with photographs is what settles it with the other side. If it does need a roof, you will have that in writing too.
