Local Expertise
The call usually comes in spring or late fall, because that is when a door here stops behaving. It drags on the threshold, or it needs a shove, or the deadbolt lines up in one season and not the other. Whatever it is doing, it came on slowly enough that most people have been living with it for a couple of years.
That is the first thing we sort out. We look at the frame, the sill, the threshold and how the opening sits before we talk about slabs, because replacing a door that was never the problem helps nobody. If what you have has years left in it, we will tell you so.
The Product
A door is the one exterior product you touch every single day, so how it feels in the hand matters as much as how it performs against the weather.
Lee’s Summit Specifics
Seasonal movement is normal here, so how a door is set matters as much as what it is made of. Adjustable hinges and a threshold that can be tuned mean the same door still closes properly in both halves of the year.
A door facing open water takes wind-driven rain with nothing in front of it, and the track is what gives out. A unit with a proper drainage track and a solid latch is a different item from the slider these houses were built with.
The doors that came with these homes were bought by the pallet: thin weatherstripping, a hollow frame and a finish that was never going to survive twenty summers on a south wall. That is not a maintenance failure on your part.
What You Get
Reinforced strike plates, multi-point hardware and solid cores: the parts of a door a break-in actually tests.
Compression weatherstripping and adjustable thresholds stop the draft you can feel across the entry floor.
Interior and exterior trim returned to a clean, painted, caulked condition, not left for you to sort out.
How It Works
We come out, measure, look at what is actually there, and give you a written price with no obligation.
You choose materials, colors and details with samples in hand, and we confirm everything before anything is ordered.
Our own crews do the work, keep the site clean, and walk the finished job with you before we call it done.
No pressure. Just solutions.

My experience with Shinnova was great. I want to thank Jeremy Sweatman for convencing me to get it done. My house looks new again and it is much warmer inside. The workers were very professional. They cleaned up after themselves every night before they left. Thank you very much.
We are extremely impressed with the professionalism of everyone we worked with Jeremy the bomb in explaining sale of windows and the process, Butch for guiding the installation and Dan for all the follow up on progress with delivery. Would recommend hands down we are actually on our second order. The Murphys

Questions
A single entry or patio door is usually a one-day job. The opening is never left open overnight: removal, installation, insulation, sealing and trim all happen in the same visit.
Often yes, if they are in good condition and the proportions still work with the new slab. We will tell you honestly when replacing the full unit gives a better result than keeping mismatched glass.
Whichever one you use most, nearly always. That is the one wearing out fastest and the one you notice every day. We will price the others so you can see the whole picture, then do them in the order that suits you.
Usually. Bore patterns and backsets are standard enough that good hardware can move to a new door. If yours cannot, we will tell you at the estimate rather than after it is off the old slab.
