Lee’s Summit Siding FAQ
How long does a siding project take?
Most homes take three to six working days depending on size, how complex the home is, and weather. We keep the site cleaned down each evening rather than at the end of the job.
Can you side over the existing material?
We do not recommend it. Removing the old siding is the only way to inspect the sheathing, correct water damage and install the weather barrier properly, which is where the real performance comes from.
How do we know if it is just the sunny side that needs doing?
We check all four walls and tell you. Panel that has gone brittle snaps rather than flexes, and that is easy to demonstrate on site. You will see the difference between the wall that is finished and the wall you have just stopped liking.
If we only do the sunny walls, will the new panel match the old?
Not exactly, and we would rather say so now. Panel that has been in the sun for twenty years has chalked and shifted, so new material beside it reads brighter. Where we do phase work we break it at a corner rather than mid-wall, which is what keeps the difference from being obvious.
