Local Expertise
There are two doors we see constantly in this metro and they are nothing alike. The city and inner-suburb brick homes have narrow original openings with a storm door doing most of the work. The west county and St. Charles subdivisions have builder-grade slabs on thin weatherstripping under a shallow overhang. Both end up in the same condition, though what they need from us is not the same.
Your entry has its own exposure, its own history of storm doors and its own traffic through it, and on a masonry opening the surround matters as much as the slab. So we look at the whole opening rather than the door alone, and we file the permit with whichever municipality you happen to be in. If the door has good years left in it, we will say so rather than write you a quote today.
The Product
A door is the one exterior product you touch every single day, so how it feels in the hand matters as much as how it performs against the weather.
St. Louis Specifics
A door in a brick opening needs the surround and the sill handled properly, not a new slab dropped into the old problem. Get that wrong and the water goes into the wall instead of onto the step.
This metro runs humid from May to September. Fiberglass slabs and composite frames do not swell or rot the way a wood jamb does, so the door still shuts the same way in August as it does in February.
Which desk we file with depends on your address, and the inner-county municipalities are particular about it. We pull the permit and schedule the install around the inspection.
What You Get
Reinforced strike plates, multi-point hardware and solid cores: the parts of a door a break-in actually tests.
Compression weatherstripping and adjustable thresholds stop the draft you can feel across the entry floor.
Interior and exterior trim returned to a clean, painted, caulked condition, not left for you to sort out.
How It Works
We come out, measure, look at what is actually there, and give you a written price with no obligation.
You choose materials, colors and details with samples in hand, and we confirm everything before anything is ordered.
Our own crews do the work, keep the site clean, and walk the finished job with you before we call it done.
No pressure. Just solutions.

My experience with Shinnova was great. I want to thank Jeremy Sweatman for convencing me to get it done. My house looks new again and it is much warmer inside. The workers were very professional. They cleaned up after themselves every night before they left. Thank you very much.
We are extremely impressed with the professionalism of everyone we worked with Jeremy the bomb in explaining sale of windows and the process, Butch for guiding the installation and Dan for all the follow up on progress with delivery. Would recommend hands down we are actually on our second order. The Murphys

Questions
A single entry or patio door is usually a one-day job. The opening is never left open overnight: removal, installation, insulation, sealing and trim all happen in the same visit.
Often yes, if they are in good condition and the proportions still work with the new slab. We will tell you honestly when replacing the full unit gives a better result than keeping mismatched glass.
Yes. Fiberglass entry doors come in panel profiles and glass patterns that read correctly on a brick two-family or a Tudor, and we size the unit to the opening you have rather than making your opening fit a stock door.
Yes, plus the city. The permit desk changes with the municipality and we deal with that end. Give us the address and we will tell you what is involved.
