Local Expertise

Roofs Across A Metro Of Small Municipalities

A roof job in this metro is nearly as much a paperwork job as a roofing job. St. Louis County alone runs dozens of municipalities, each with its own permit desk, its own inspector and its own idea of what belongs on the drawings. We file in these towns constantly, so we know which ones want what before a crew is ever scheduled.

Underneath the paperwork the job is simple, and it happens in one order. We get on the roof and photograph it. We show you what is up there and where it stands. Then we file, schedule and tear off. Nothing is ordered and no permit is pulled until you have seen the pictures and agreed with the plan.

The Product

What Goes Into A Roof That Lasts

A roof is a system, not a stack of shingles. The parts you never see (decking, underlayment, flashing, ventilation) decide how long the visible part survives.

  • Architectural asphalt shingles with manufacturer-backed warranties
  • Full tear-off, deck inspection and replacement of damaged sheathing
  • New flashing, valley protection and balanced ridge ventilation

St. Louis Specifics

What A Roofing Job Here Involves

A permit desk per town

Your municipality sets the permit, the inspection and occasionally the shingle. We file across the county every week, so the timeline you get reflects your town rather than an average one.

Hail and river-corridor wind

Storm lines follow the rivers here and hail arrives with most of them. The damage is rarely obvious from the ground, so the inspection happens on the roof and the report you get has photographs and measurements in it.

What is under the shingles

Mid-county ranches and city homes often have plank decking, or two layers already up there. What is underneath changes the job, and it is the sort of thing nobody can promise you from the driveway.

Questions

St. Louis Metro Roofing FAQ

How long does a roof replacement take?

A typical single-family roof is a one to two day job. We tear off, inspect the deck, dry it in and finish the same trip, and the site is swept before the crew leaves each day.

How do I know whether I need a repair or a replacement?

We inspect first and show you photographs of what we found. If a targeted repair genuinely buys you several more years, that is what we will recommend. Replacing a roof that does not need replacing is not a service.

Which municipality pulls the permit for my roof?

Yours, whichever one that is, and we file it. In this metro the requirements change from town to town, so we confirm what your address needs before we schedule the tear-off.

How soon can you inspect after a storm?

Leaks come first. If water is coming in, we get out to cover it and the full inspection follows. After a wide storm the whole county calls at once, so we will tell you honestly where you sit in the line rather than promise a day we cannot hold.
