Local Expertise
Back yards in Florissant are flat, which sounds simple and is not. A deck here sits low, close to damp ground, and the old one has usually been fastened to a brick wall by somebody who treated masonry like framing. Soft boards at the back edge and a ledger nobody has looked at in thirty years are what we tend to find.
Rebuilding is where that gets fixed properly. New footings below frost depth, a frame that either anchors into masonry correctly or stands on its own, and enough clearance underneath for air to move. Then we size the deck to how you actually use the yard, in composite or in wood, depending on how much upkeep you want.
The Product
Both materials build a good deck. The right answer depends on how much upkeep you want to sign up for and how long you plan to be in the house.
Florissant Specifics
A ledger bolted into brick veneer is not carrying anything safely. Where the masonry cannot take it, we free-stand the frame on its own posts, which is a better structure rather than a workaround.
With no grade to work with, a deck sits close to the soil and stays damp underneath. Clearance, drainage and the right framing material are the difference between twelve years and thirty.
Lots here are narrow with a fence and a neighbor close on both sides. We plan where the material is stacked, where the saw sits and how the debris leaves before the first day, so the week is predictable for you and for next door.
What You Get
Permitted where required, with ledger, footing and guard details done to current requirements.
Layout planned around your door location, grade and how you actually use the space.
Hidden fasteners, clean fascia returns and stair geometry that feels right underfoot.
How It Works
We come out, measure, look at what is actually there, and give you a written price with no obligation.
You choose materials, colors and details with samples in hand, and we confirm everything before anything is ordered.
Our own crews do the work, keep the site clean, and walk the finished job with you before we call it done.
No pressure. Just solutions.

Questions
Most residential decks take one to two weeks depending on size, height and rail system. Footings and inspections set the schedule more than the carpentry does.
If you plan to stay more than a few years, usually yes: you stop paying for sealing and board replacement. If the budget is tight or the deck is small, treated lumber built well is still a good deck.
Yes. Decks are permitted and inspected, footings included. We prepare the drawings, file them with the City of Florissant and schedule the footing inspection and the final.
Only if the wall will take it, and on a brick house that is a real question rather than a formality. We will show you what is behind the old ledger and tell you honestly whether we are anchoring into it or standing the new frame on its own.
