Local Expertise
The front door on a Florissant brick ranch is usually not the one the family uses. That is the side door off the driveway or the carport, the one with the storm door that has been closing hard for years. The front entry sits on a concrete stoop behind an iron rail, it is narrow by modern standards, and it has been painted more times than anyone can count.
Both are worth looking at, for different reasons. We ask which one you actually walk through, how much weather the entry takes, and whether the storm door is holding heat against the slab all summer. Then we replace the door, the frame and the threshold as one assembly, which is the only way the draft at the bottom actually goes away.
The Product
A door is the one exterior product you touch every single day, so how it feels in the hand matters as much as how it performs against the weather.
Florissant Specifics
On most of these homes the side or carport entry is the real front door, and it was the cheapest one in the house when it was built. That is the one to spend on: insulated core, hardware rated for daily use and a threshold that seals.
Fifties entries are tight, and the brick around them is not moving. Working within the existing opening we can still change the glass, the panel style and the hardware, so the front reads updated without touching the masonry.
The slider at the back usually came with the patio, sometime in the seventies or eighties, and it is aluminum. Those drag, cloud over and leak air at the interlock. A new unit runs on fresh hardware and seals at the sill where the old one never did.
What You Get
Reinforced strike plates, multi-point hardware and solid cores: the parts of a door a break-in actually tests.
Compression weatherstripping and adjustable thresholds stop the draft you can feel across the entry floor.
Interior and exterior trim returned to a clean, painted, caulked condition, not left for you to sort out.
How It Works
We come out, measure, look at what is actually there, and give you a written price with no obligation.
You choose materials, colors and details with samples in hand, and we confirm everything before anything is ordered.
Our own crews do the work, keep the site clean, and walk the finished job with you before we call it done.
No pressure. Just solutions.

Questions
A single entry or patio door is usually a one-day job. The opening is never left open overnight: removal, installation, insulation, sealing and trim all happen in the same visit.
Often yes, if they are in good condition and the proportions still work with the new slab. We will tell you honestly when replacing the full unit gives a better result than keeping mismatched glass.
For a like-for-like replacement, usually not. If the opening changes, or the house sits in the Old Town historic district, there is a permit and a review, and we handle both.
Not always, and it is worth asking. On a shaded north entry a storm door earns its place. On a door that takes full afternoon sun it traps heat against the slab, which is hard on the finish. We will tell you which one you have.
